KaLui Restaurant: Puerto Princesa Restaurants

Day 3: Dinner at KaLui Restaurant

Behind the gates of KaLui

After our long day of having the Honda Bay Island Hopping tour and Part 2 of the City tour, it was time for dinner. We already called KaLui Restaurant the day before for our 8 pm reservations, their second batch of serving dinner. Their first batch was at 6pm, and we found it too early since we planned on doing the remaining stops of the City tour we had missed that afternoon.

Upon arriving and seeing the throng of people outside the place, we knew why people wanting to dine here have to make reservations beforehand. Walk-ins were entertained only after all reservations have been attended to. While waiting to be ushered to our table, we deposited our footwear at the waiting area where there were baskets under the seats for guests to put their shoes in.

The ambiance of the restaurant was very much Zen-like with a native twist. It has elevated wooden floors, bamboo-lined walls, wooden tables of varying heights where people can opt to sit on chairs or on the floor. Soothing music is also being played while the restaurant itself is being ventilated naturally by the cool breeze blowing (plus electric fans, of course).

When we were seated, we chose to have the KaLui Special of the Day, a meal set good for 2 people priced at Php395! It's compposed of seaweeds, soup for the day, rice, tuna steak, prawns, 2 veggie dishes and dessert. Seafood and veggies were definitely fresh catch and newly picked, tasting a bit sweet. What else can I say but everything was great!
KaLui Special of the Day.. Yum! Yum!

After the great gastronomic treat, we set out to explore the place. There are lots of photo ops here, by the mini art gallery, wall decorations, the garden, and there's even a stage with a tree at the middle.
