Yes, I know it's 2 weeks late, but I've been awfully busy with work hence the delayed post. But as the saying goes, it's better late than never. So here's our experience going around the nearest churches in our part of Quezon City for the 2013 Holy Week.
It was the morning of Good Friday, March 29, 2013, when my mother-in-law asked us to accompany her to go around and visit churches, known to Roman Catholics as Visita Iglesia.
Visita Iglesia, or the Seven Churches Visitation, is a pious Roman Catholic Lenten tradition of attempting to visit seven churches or religious sites. It has been traditionally observed during Maundy Thursdays, but nowadays, it is common practice to do it during any day of the Holy Week.
Our itinerary for the day:
-Immaculate Conception Cathedral
-Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish
-St. Joseph Chapel
-St. Ignatius Cathedral
-Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine |
Our first stop, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine along Broadway Avenue.
